New Senior Mechanical Design Engineer job available with a well-established design and manufacturer of electro-mechanical systems based in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
They are looking for a capable Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their continuously growing business. This person will play a key and influential role in the R&D team and will be reporting into the Technical Director.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
- The design, development and test of mechanical systems and components for a range of industries, including Automotive
- Carrying out engineering calculations, simulations and analysis using software tools (MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, COMSOL and ANSYS)
- The understanding of technical specifications and schematics to create mechanical designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- The mentoring of junior engineers and you will be working closely with electronic engineers, software engineers and technicians to ensure the successful development of products.
Key skills/experience required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer job:
- A thorough understanding of the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components
- Proven experience in a senior position with a track record of designing and developing successful mechanical systems and components
- Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations (ISO, ASME, ASTM, MIL-STD)
- Experience with 3D CAD software
