???? Your Role ????
As a Controls and Instrumentation Hardware Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and commissioning control systems that drive innovation. You’ll collaborate on engineering projects, engaging with both customers and internal teams. Your technical prowess will shine as you diagnose and rectify faults to ensure the excellence of our products. Ensuring designs adhere to legislative requirements and creating top-tier system specifications and test documentation will be second nature to you. Plus, you’ll be hands-on, assisting in system commissioning both in-house and at customer sites globally.
???? Your Qualifications ????
You’re an engineering trailblazer with:
- NVQ 5 minimum / degree in relevant engineering discipline
- Over 2 years of experience in Electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Solidworks Electrical)
- Practical expertise in control and instrumentation system design
- Familiarity with modern machine systems design and safety standards
- A knack for designing industrial control systems
- Commercial savvy in managing project budgets, plans, and timescales
- Mastery of Microsoft Office tools
- A self-motivated, organized approach to time management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to travel internationally
???? Technical Mastery ????
Your toolkit includes:
- Proficiency in industrial communication protocols (ProfiNET, EtherNetIP, EtherCAT, CAN; Modbus TCP)
- Expertise in industrial wiring, switchgear, and selection techniques
- Knowledge of industrial sensors and cable types
- P&ID diagram prowess, translating to control systems
- Power source integration for test applications
- Deep understanding of electrical legislation and compliance (UKCA, CE, UL, CSA)
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and design (ISO 13849, IEC 61508), ATEX, EMC
- Control loop design skills (PID)
