This position is for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an established and successful Test equipment Technology company.

Background:

Sierra CP Engineering Ltd design and manufacture test products & systems for propulsion, power train, vehicle, and component test systems at their facility in Malvern. The company was founded in 1983 and is undergoing a period of growth and change.

Sierra CP Engineering supplies systems ranging from a new control and data logging system for an existing test cell through to a new turn key test cell complete with dynamometer, cooling systems, measurement equipment including integrated cell support infrastructure and independent safety protection solutions.

Electrical Design Department

Responsibilities:

• Manage and scheduling workload in Electrical design
• Work closely with Project Managers, Clients & Mechanical & Software Design to execute projects in a timely manner agreed with all parties.
• Managing the production of drawings & preparing and co-ordinating electrical reports and specifications.
• Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their requirements and liaising with them regularly on progress as the project develops.
• Managing with the project team to ensure production deliverables are met to the agreed timelines and budget.
• Ability to specify & design for low voltage applications (48V to 1000 AC/DC, circuits.)
• Ability to specify Variable speed AC Drives and associated motors.

Key Skills:

• HNC/HND /Degree level in electrical design engineering
• Good experience of 2D electrical design packages for wiring schematics, etc
• Strong background in electrical design of Industrial capital equipment, machinery & instrumentation such as automated test equipment.
• Practical electrical installation, commissioning of Capital equipment, and support infrastructure
• Conversant with MS Office packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
• Conversant with the latest Electrical regulations (EN60204, EN13849, IEC 619, BS7671 ETC.
• Conversant with various PLC systems Rockwell – Allen Bradley, Schneider safety controller with the ability to write software code.
• Experience of electrical power distribution
• Experience of 3 phase and single-phase electrical systems.
• Experience of facility electrical wiring.
