New Electronics Design Engineer job available in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
A well-established company working in detection technology are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join their R&D team based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. You will be involved in the development of new scientific instrumentation products that will be used by a range of industries including Medical, Defence and Nuclear.
Key responsibilities of the Electronics Design Engineer job:
- Electronic hardware development (both analogue and digital) and embedded development
- Testing of prototype hardware and firmware
- Liaising with key team members and supporting other engineers to reach project milestones
- There will be an element of travel with this role (approx. 2-3 days per month) to attend other company sites and industry conferences etc
Key skills / experience required for the Electronics Design Engineer job:
- Knowledge and experience of analogue and digital electronic design, PCB design and schematic capture and layout
- Proven experience of working on electronics development within an R&D team
- Experience of prototyping, testing and fault finding
- Any knowledge of experience of mechanical design and or mechanical drawings would be very beneficial
- Embedded programming experience (using C / C++) would be beneficial
- A valid UK driving licence and your own transport is required for this job
