My client is global supplier of battery systems and power management solutions. They are currently investing heavily into products for the renewable energy industry using green technology and advanced switching / power conversion techniques.
They have over 30 manufacturing and assembly plants worldwide servicing over 10,000 customers in more than 100 countries. Worldwide headquarters are in Pennsylvania, USA with regional headquarters in Europe and Asia. With over 100 years of power electronics and battery experience, they provide full solutions for stored DC power products.

The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day activities with a team of junior and senior technicians and engineers in the testing and validation of batteries, electronics, electrical systems and mechanical assemblies with respect to technical requirement, design quality, product, and costs, according to the companies’ engineering processes and building blocks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities as an Engineering Manager (Test):
First and foremost, the BTC Manager will work directly with the Director of Verification and Validation to ensure the functional startup of a lithium-Ion testing laboratory in the Technology Center and provide the day-to-day guidance of activities of the lithium test lab.
• The incumbent will generate and maintain test schedules and equipment utilization through the use of PPM tools and report the status and issues directly to the Sr Director of VeVa, working also with the PMO to resolve scheduling conflicts with GTC resources.
Essential qualifications needed for the Engineering Manager (Test):
- 5+ years’ experience in battery or electrical system testing and team management of those activities with a support staff.
- Mandatory experience for supervising and/or managing teams in a battery and electronics environment
- A minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering, preferably electrical, or mechanical. As alternate 10-15 years’ experience in electronics or mechanical system testing with 2 years of managing teams, such as armed services technician experience in a highly disciplined environment. Other BS degrees in a technical field would be considered.
