We have an exciting new opportunity for a Laboratory Manager (Analytical Chemist) to join a global business with one of their laboratory facilities based near Wimbledon, London.
You will be looking after the technical side of the lab and will put quality control processes into place to ensure the smooth running of the lab and the equipment.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Manager (Analytical Chemist) job:
- Review, approval and release of UKAS accredited products
- Train, oversee and direct lab analysts to ensure certifications are performed correctly
- Design, develop and implement new projects to improve productivity and efficiency
- Provide technical support for the lab equipment, take responsibility of servicing and maintenance and select new analytical equipment to enhance capability
Requirements for the Laboratory Manager (Analytical Chemist) job:
- Good knowledge of analytical instrumentation
- MSc in Chemistry, ideally with an analytical background
- An understanding of statistical techniques, measurement uncertainty and traceability issues
- Able to work alone and as a team lead
- Experience of UKAS Management Systems would be beneficial
