They are on a mission to have a net-zero mining operation by 2030. They are now seeking a Lead Engineer for Battery Design and Integration. This is a permanent position to be based in Oxfordshire and offers excellent benefits and progression.
This individual will perform a ‘Technical Lead’ role on a major HV battery (REESS) or e-powertrain integration programme to deliver decarbonised solutions into the off-highway sector.
The role will include the technical authority and coordination of a multi-discipline team of engineers to deliver the overall programme, in collaboration with the programme manager.
These programmes typically follow the new product introduction process of feasibility, concepting, design, development, validation, industrialisation, and aftersales.
Job Responsibilities of the Lead Engineer – Battery Integration:
- Performing a Technical Lead or a Lead Integration role for HV battery systems, providing the key technical decisions for project success through design, development, industrialisation and aftersales.
- Be responsible for understanding customer requirements, attribute setting, generating project scope and system specifications.
- Mentoring team members, and leading projects by example.
- Concepting of new battery solutions to meet client performance, cost, timing and industrialisation requirements.
- Manage DFMEA to predict and mitigate potential issues
- Continuing awareness of market technical trends and new technologies
Experience & Qualifications needed for the Lead Engineer – Battery Integration:
- A Degree in mechanical, automotive, or aerospace engineering.
- Experience of leading a project team to deliver a multi-discipline project.
- Engineering experience working on HV battery (REESS) programmes is a must.
- Knowledge and experience of e-Powertrain system components, such as Motors, gearboxes, power electronics or would be advantageous.
- A broad knowledge of vehicle systems would be advantageous.
