A UK-based designer and manufacturer of specialist power equipment are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to manage project development and oversee the development of allocated product lines in Bedford, Bedfordshire. My client has formed an international reputation through their designing and manufacturing of products which serve industries such as aviation, automotive and more.
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will manage CAD design, development, testing and analysis phases of the product development. This will include root cause analysis, mechanical testing, and working closely with electrical engineers to package electrical and electronic components. You will be project manage the test and development lifecycle through to product delivery.
Required Skills / Experience:
- A technical background in Mechanical Engineering, involving design, test, and analysis.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis in relation to mechanical testing.
- An understanding of electrical power and housing electronic related products.
- Ability to lead projects and provide technical direction to mechanical engineers.
- Ability to manage suppliers, BOMs, and client relationships.
- Exposure to electrical engineering, electrical testing, wiring regulations or electrical performance would be beneficial but not essential.
