A leading aerospace / defence organisation based in Hayes, Greater London (Middlesex / West London area) are seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – Ruggedised Enclosures to join the business on a 3-6 month contract. As a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer you will design and develop ruggedised electronic enclosures for military, defence, aerospace and space organisation. These products and systems are designed for the harshest of environments. This contract is in place to support a team of 5 mechanical design engineers in a business that currently maintains150 + employees.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for creating 3D CAD design enclosures for rugged electronics, using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and Siemens NX. You will develop critical products which are sold to military, defence, aerospace and telecoms organisations across the globe.
Skills / Experience required:
- Experience in 3D CAD design using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or Siemens NX.
- Exposure to sheet metal enclosures and machining.
- Good understanding of thermal and fluid analysis (experience with CFD would be beneficial but not essential).
- An understanding of conductive electronic circuits, configuration management, ruggedized electronics would be beneficial but not essential!
