MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER JOB NEAR TRING, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
A globally established and highly successful organisation involved in automotive, aerospace and defence technology are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer – NX to join their UK headquarters based near Tring, Buckinghamshire.
The Mechanical Design Engineer – NX will be leading the design activities for the design of next generation generator products and developing these into manufacturable designs.
Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer – NX job:
- Lead design engineering activities from concept, through development and qualification test
- Carry out design calculations e.g. thermal growths, hoop and tensile stresses and tolerance analysis to support designs
- Liaise closely with other project team members
- Monitor progress in accordance with pre-agreed monthly milestone targets
Key skills / experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer – NX job:
- A Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Confident user of 3D CAD software for design, ideally Siemens NX
- Experience with GD&T and FEA
- Experience of producing designs with consideration of costs and ease of manufacture and assembly.
- Knowledge of electrical machines / rotating machinery would be beneficial
