NPI PROCESS ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities:

For the following activities it is expected that the NPI Process Engineer is responsible for continually reviewing and improving process to deliver manufacturing techniques for high level of efficiency, delivery, and quality standards.

• Process methods for continuous improvement for QCD.
• Manage 2/3 projects simultaneously.
• Management of core process documentation including PFMEA and Control Plans work instructions.
• Develop and support processes for new products and NEW product introduction Single piece flow, low volume.
• Cost down in method, tools, and materials.
• Support Quality engineering in defect investigation and deliver root cause resolution.
• Lead CI teams in all manufacturing aspects.

For the following activities it is expected that the NPI Process Engineer supports the project team to meet the Phase Exit milestones.

• Manage and create Project Documentation example PFMEA, Process flow, work instruction, Capacity analysis etc.
• Achieving 90% performance rate as a KPI in Phase stage of project.
• Design for Manufacture activities throughout the project phase with a problem-solving bias to the product.
• RFQ creation through to fixture concept realization and sign off derived from PFMEA, CC, SC 
• BOM, route, SAP understanding.
• Route input into SAP. 
• DFMEA input and phase reviews.
• Individual part reviews to feed into the CTS (Tooling documentation).
• Creation of CTS tracker for manufacturing assembly issues.
• Support project development activities and work alongside the NPI Launch Coordinator.
• Support and lead where necessary Pre- Series builds.
• Launch project process until Phase 7 is closed (Project Closed).
• Support line in production 90 days from sign off.

KPI Deliverables

Phase completion.

All of the above activities are to be carried out whilst adhering to Wipac’s Health and Safety, Environmental and 5S policies.

Experience and Qualifications:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing assembly engineering role.
• Mechanical engineering degree or higher.
• Proven track record of manufacturing method improvements in assembly.
• Six sigma background. Black belt preferable but not essential.
• Strong “Can do” attitude.
• Good communication skills and ability to lead a team through improvement activities.
