A new Principal Hardware Design Engineer job has come available with a leading research and development organisation based in Linlithgow, Scotland. This company design products and systems which are used in wireless communications and telecommunications and have approximately 150 employees and are still growing!
They are investing into their R&D department which is a fast paced and busy environment with lots of exciting development projects to work on. As Principal Hardware Design Engineer you will work with a multi-disciplined team, taking designs from initial concept through the NPI process to manufacture.
Responsibilities of the Principal Hardware Design Engineer job :
- Creating new high speed digital board designs and/or modifying existing designs
- Create hardware architectures from high level product specifications
- Designing boards with microprocessors, FPGA’s and the latest memory technologies
- Working closely with the mechanical design team on the development of enclosures
- Taking designs through the NPI lifecycle to ensure manufacturability
Skills / Experience required for the Principal Hardware Design Engineer job:
- Proven complex, schematic design experience (at least 12+ years)
- Providing requirements and reviewing the design of complex multi-layer PCBs
- Ability to develop architectures from a product specification
- Any knowledge of battery powered devices, Ethernet or memory technologies would be beneficial
