A tech giant in global energy are looking for a Hybrid Procurement Specialist at an Engineering facility in Stroud!
A multi-billion dollar international technology company is currently looking for Procurement Specialist to join their Supply Chain team in their offices in Stroud, Gloucestershire. With facilities in over 120 countries worldwide our Client is a leader in developing state of the art equipment to challenge the traditional limitations of the energy industry. You will work on incredibly complexed and innovative projects on a global scale.The Procurement Specialist is responsible implementing sourcing plans/ tactics to effectively manage the sourcing activities related to his/ her assigned project portfolio. The Procurement Specialist provides sourcing and procurement support, ensuring parts are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner from suitable vendors. Works with the assigned project teams to meet critical project timelines, prioritizing work and communicating progress in cadence reviews/ through tracking mechanisms, understands strategies for assigned commodities & proactively drive initiatives to meet departmental objectives.
Responsibilites for the Procurement Specialist:
- Responsible for Purchase Order (PO) processing from MRP and Memo demand for assigned suppliers
- Ensures that POs are created correctly per need/ schedule and follow up on any issues related to PO creation
- Ensures POs are acknowledged by supplier within KPO time period for assigned suppliers, and acknowledged dates match MRP need dates (where applicable)
- Escalate any failed Order Acknowledgements after using best efforts to resolve with supplier directly
- Review PO line qty to benefit batch qty price break and contact supplier for potential split PO line qty to meet any urgent requests, including gaining the approval of any expediting fees
- Understand NPD and TLM Engineering project timelines and business goals
- Manage day-to-day interactions with assigned suppliers via Open Order report, action messages and ad-hoc project expedite request.
Experience needed for the Procurement Specialist role:
• Preferably minimum 3-year experience in Procurement or related functional expertise
• Understanding of procurement & sourcing systems, SAP ERP experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electronic part sourcing protocol
• Basic technical business knowledge to be capable of managing local supplier interactions and quotes
• Negotiation skills and able to build/ develop supplier relationships
• Able to analyse and solve problems
