JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Reports to: Software Team Leader
Saab Seaeye Limited, 20 Brunel Way, Segensworth East, Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 5SD, United Kingdom
Job Purpose: To design and implement software solutions for underwater robotics applications in line with the company’s business needs through innovation, creativity and professionalism.
Scope:
A team player, able to work with minimal supervision either on your own or within project teams. You may be required to manage projects, this will require you to direct and co-ordinate project activities within the Engineering Department and other areas of the business such as Purchasing, Operations, Sales and Logistics.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
3+ years’ experience development of real-time embedded software in C or C++
Experience of serial bus: including SPI and I2C
Developing and debugging software for micro-controller peripherals and systems, e.g. microcontrollers, boot loaders, interrupt functions, serial interfaces.
Understanding of electronic systems and electrical theory
Excellent communication skills (written/spoken)
Experience working ARM Cortex-M platforms

Desirable skills:
Experience of CAN Bus, DSP platforms, motor control and Embedded Linux
Full-lifecycle product design: from specification to production
Sensor theory
Embedded systems development
TI-RTOS experience
