New Senior Mechanical Design Engineer job available in Wheatley, Oxfordshire
A leading design and manufacturer of complex heavy duty motor engines are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Wheatley, Oxfordshire. You will be part of a multi-million pound business with over 500+ employees, with 6 in the current mechanical design team.
We are looking for someone who can provide technical authority and work on strategic development and physical development. You will design special purpose machinery and automotive engines from concept through to manufacture using SolidWorks. This will involve 3D CAD design, development, tolerance and FEA analysis.
Skills / Experience required:
- 3D CAD design experience ideally using SolidWorks.
- Experience in designing heavy duty sheet metal / welded parts.
- Previous experience with injection moulding, vacuum forming, or metal pressing would be beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work on both design and analysis (tolerance / FEA / DFMEA)
- Team leadership and customer management qualities would be beneficial but not essential.
