A leading mechanical / structural engineering design organisation based in Poole, Dorset are seeking an xperienced Senior Mechanical / Structural Engineering to join their team in Poole, Dorset. We are looking for a Senior Structural Mechanical Engineer who to join their R&D Engineering team in Poole, Dorset. As a Senior Structural Mechanical Engineer you will be involved in calculating, analysing and designing mechanical structures, such as large-scale steel gates, barriers with moving mechanisms. This role will involve analysis and design calculations, FEA using ANSYS, as well as 3D CAD design.

Skills / Experience required:

• Capability in 3D CAD design using Autodesk Inventor, or a similar CAD development tool.
• Strong and proven experience in manual calculations.
• Experience with the mechanical / structural development of buildings / steel structures or similar systems.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes standards
• Analysis / FEA experience, ideally using ANSYS or similar.
• To have an understanding of hydraulic systems and moving mechanisms.
